Designed for students or professionals required to complete academic course work requirements - OR engineered for fitness human services, personal trainers, general studies, or entry level private sector fitness professionals, wanting to explore a career at Built for Speed, or learn how to move from fitness to needs-based performance training.
High School Diploma
Enrolled in (2nd-4th year) OR Completed Bachelor or Master’s Program
Exercise Science Discipline (Preferred) - NOT REQUIRED
Team-Based - can operate in a matrix management structure
Can multi-task, accountable, and out-going
Previous Athlete and/or current fitness enthusiast
Can move carry 45lbs, Lead dynamic warm-ups, complete plyometrics
Will integrate and mesh with our culture: Compete, Respect, Discipline, Me v Me

The candidate and intern’s MAIN job is to ensure the safety, preparation, accuracy, and education of our clients at ALL training engagements - Learning never stops; we expect interns to study and explore concepts daily, bringing insight and context to every workout - buy-in and trust is earned.
MUST be able to demo, cue, regress/progress compound movement
MUST be experienced and proficient in resistance training
MUST be able to identify technical breakdown - explain positional strength
MUST be willing and able to lead training engagements for youth athletes
MUST be able to explain three planes of motion
MUST be able to open, set-up, close, and clean facility
MUST make ALL athletes feel comfortable + natural conversationalist
